It is Summer time, so squash is in bloom at the Farm!
Fresh from the Garden… a very delicious “little” summer patty pan squash.
This beasty little flying saucer weighted in at over a pound. We gave him a fitting finally with a pat of butter, a splash of Sauternes, a smidgen of shallot, and a dash of fleur de sal.
One of my favorite squash, The name “pattypan” or pâtisson in French is from the french “a pan for baking a patty” or literally, a “patty pan”.
